Introduction

Categorical quantum mechanics (CQM) is an innovative framework that leverages category theory to reformulate and deepen our understanding of quantum mechanics. Traditional quantum mechanics relies heavily on linear algebra and Hilbert spaces to describe quantum states and their evolution. In contrast, CQM uses the rich structure of category theory, which provides a high-level, abstract mathematical language to describe systems and their interactions. One of the most notable features is that string diagrams can accurately represent the compositional structure of categorical quantum mechanics.
